Water is used for condenser cooling and as seal water for the vacuum pumps. In shape moulding production plants water is additionally used for the mould cooling.

The condenser water flowing back after the moulding process is cooled down via cooling towers.  From one kilogram water about 2500 kJ heat is drawn. The achievable temperature in the cold water basin is minimum 3 degree higher than the  local wet bulb temperature of the atmospheric air
